Toast of lovers of good Juju music and socialites alike, Uncle Toye Ajagun clocks 75 Wednesday March 5, 2020.
A native of Abeokuta, Ogun State, the ageless juju musician, Alhaji Akeem Olatoye Ajagunjehun, popularly known as Uncle Toye Ajagun, made his mark in Juju music genre in the late 70s to late 80s.
He started his musical career in the band of the popular Apola King, Idowu Animasahun, who now pastors a church in the city of Ibadan.
Uncle Toye Ajagun has been playing music for over five decade with series of albums with the Abioros the Otun Jagunmolu Adinni of the Aba-Alamu/Oke-Alaro Muslim Community Ibadan.
To mark his birthday, the Magbe magbe crooner has lined up a series of colourful programs scheduled to take place in the brown roof city of Ibadan at the popular music house premises in Ibadan.
Important guests are expected to grace the event which will parade a lot of artists across all genre of music from Juju, Fuji, Apala, Gospel, Sakara among others.
Among the acts billed to add colour to the birthday ceremony is Ibadan based popular gospel juju act, Yinka Ayefele, whom incidentally Uncle Toye happened to be a boss to.
A nephew to the late Apala king Ayinla Omowura the egunmagaji himself who passed on some 40years ago and brother to the king of miliki Evangelist Ebenezer obey fabiyi all from Abeokuta and successful in their different musicial career, Uncle Toye Ajagun expects hundreds of friends and well-wishers to share in the joy of his birthday at the original headquarter of entertainment in Nigeria, Ibadan, where Uncle Toye Ajagun is based and made name for himself as one of the original bearers of core Juju music.
