As part of activities to celebrate Luli Concert 2019, organisers of the events hosted a charity walk over the weekend. The walk tagged Luli Walk, was a 4klm charity work aimed at achieving mental and physical well-being. The walk which lasted for an hour kicked off at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan Lagos and went through major routes in Lagos Island, was undertaken by hundreds of members of the Celestial Church of Christ.
The walk began with a health awareness and enlightenment campaign aimed at promoting fitness drills as a means of maintaining physical well-being. Speaking to our correspondent during the event, Mr. Olugbenga Obajuwon-Ogunlana, chairman of the organising committee noted that the charity walk was initiated to help Nigerians imbibe the culture of exercises as well as prepare ahead of the forthcoming Luli Concert.
Speaking further, Mr. Obajuwon-Ogunlana reiterated that ‘we are working to keep fit, we are also working to take territories. As a Christian group, we understand that maintaining a healthy life is as important as our spiritual growth. We are also using the walk to promote the forth coming Luli Concert that will take place on the 27th of September 2019 at the Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos’.
Members of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), were on ground to ensure the free flow, while police officers ensured the safety of members of the public.
