Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned that they would deprive the United States and its allies of oil and gas if Washington crosses Tehran’s “red lines,” according to a statement carried on state television.
“The Revolutionary Guards once again declare that if the American terrorist army crosses the red lines, our response will go beyond the region,” the statement said.
The Guards stated that, as the ideological arm of Iran’s military, they would target infrastructure aimed at depriving the United States and its allies of oil and gas in the region for years.
They further warned that America’s regional partners should understand that, until now, Iran had exercised restraint for the sake of good neighbourliness and had been selective in choosing targets for retaliation. However, the statement added that those restraints have now been removed.
