The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has disclosed that the Coronavirus epidemic might damage global economic growth this year.
The managing director IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, told the Global Women’s Forum in Dubai that a sharp and rapid economic rebound could follow.
She explained that the full impact of the spreading disease that has already killed more than 1,600 people depends on how quickly it is contained.
Georgieva noted that it is too early to assess the full impact of the epidemic but acknowledged that it has already affected sectors such as Tourism and Transportation.
