Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Monday promised to mobilise and coordinate all Nigerian youths to work for the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections.
The governor who featured as a guest on Channels Television programme ‘Politics Today’ was responding to questions on his appointment as the National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
While lauding Tinubu for finding him worthy of the role, Bello promised to use his connection with Nigerian youths to work for the victory of Tinubu as the successor to President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2023.
“He (Tinubu) has seen my past performances and he knows that I am a party man to the core. I have said it severally that APC is my first political party and it will be my last political party. There is no reason why I will jump the gun”.
“Learning from our leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu our presidential candidate who has been very consistent. He is one politician that has been very sincere and consistent. He never changed political party, except when ACN was merging with other political parties to form this very treasure of ours today called APC.”
“Looking at me and knowing fully well that I have the integrity and the pedigree and the connection with the Nigerian youths across the board; those that are political and those that are apolitical”.
“He knows that I fit in very well and I am a square peg in a square hole who will galvanize, mobilise and coordinate all the Nigerian youths, irrespective of their backgrounds for the victory of our next general elections”.
“And surely, we are just waiting to fulfil all righteousness and then we shall march towards the villa by the grace of God to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.
