The Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf has reiterated the readiness of his government to premise on the principles of good governance and economic viability if finally voted into power as the next Executive Governor of Osun State.
Hon. Yusuf, made this known on Saturday while fielding questions from Journalists at his Country home, Ilobu in the state.
Yusuf, who is currently the governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC in Osun, noted that his government would be hinged on “good governance, public ownership, inclusive governance and demonstration of people oriented programmes among others”.
Yusuf said, “Since the essence of governance is to serve the people, I have also identified areas encompassing activities and deliverables which my government must tackle proactively in the public interest.
“I will lay emphasis on Consolidated Development, Economy, Infrastructure, Education, Agriculture and Health.
According to him, “I promise to ensure stability, civility, frugality, transparency, political tolerance, and public expenditure will be result-based and project-driven.
“I will uphold the bond of performance between the government and its people, provide and deliver proactively through adaptive leadership, adequate, efficient and effective delivery of infrastructure.
“My government will insist on rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, equity, accountability, and strategic vision with a view to bridging the trust gap between the people and the government.
“Representation in government would reflect gender balance, equity, non-partisanship and based on clear merit”, The deputy speaker added.
Speaking on reconstruction of the aged Ojutu bridge which links many towns within and outside from Osogbo, the politician emphasized that, he is working assiduously on the job saying he is more concern about putting the bridge in a normal and befitting condition.
Yusuf, went further to opine that “as Osun is in a critical position, it must not be left in the hands of those he referred to as “Charlatans”.
