The representative of Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Temitope Olatoye, popularly known as Sugar, has been shot shortly after the closing of voting on Saturday, with some credible sources saying he is dead.
Olatoye was said to have died at the University College Hospital, where he was rushed to after he was shot.
Olatoye, who was shot by some suspected political thugs, was the candidate of the Action Democratic Party for the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election for Oyo Central Senatorial District.
The lawmaker, who eventually lost the contest to Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress, had last year dumped the APC.
