Nine governors across Nigeria, one First Lady, Captains of Industry as well as Corporate organizations will be honoured for their contributions to the health sector during the 34 anniversary celebration of Healthcare Magazine.
The governors are : Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos, Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta, Emmanuel Udom, Akwa Ibom, Simon Lalong, Plateau and Nasir el-Rufai, Kaduna.
Others are Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto, AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman, Kwara , Abdulahi Ganduje, Kano and Prof. Babagana Umara, Borno.
The First Lady of Ondo state, Mrs Betty Akeredolu will receive award for her contribution to cancer awareness through her foundation.
The Founder of Healthcare Magazine, Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, OON, in a statement said the celebration will include conference with the theme, “Improving Health care in Nigeria through Innovations, Technology & Effective Financing” which is set to hold on 10th March, 2020.
He said: “34 years is indeed a milestone.
To commemorate this epochal anniversary, Healthcare Communications will be holding a conference which will entails the stakeholders presentation with a one day interactive session, as the conference will revolve around INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY, HEALTH REFORMS, DIGITAL HEALTH, HEALTH INSURANCE, PRIMARY HEALTH CARE, UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE, SDG-SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT GOALS, HEALTH WORK FORCE and BIO SECURITY.”
The keynote speakers and the special guests of honour to this auspicious anniversary are the Honourable Minister of health, Dr. Osagie Enahire and Senator Oloruninbe Mamora, Minister of state for Health.
Others are Minister of Information and Culture,Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of State, Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi and his predecessor, Dr. Jide Idris and Dr. Adeyemi Johnson, a health entrepreneur.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Health, Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe will also be speaking at the occasion.
Healthcare Communications will also be presenting healthcare Awards of Excellence to the Private, corporate and individual bodies, They are : Aare Afe Babalola Founder Afe Babalola and University teaching Hospital, First Cardiologist Consultant Healthcare, Eye Care Hospital and Friesland Campina.

There will also be an exhibition session that will showcase medical equipment and technology for diagnosing which will attract exhibitors from the medical and health sector, who will have an opportunity to engage with local and international brand luminaries as they provide in-depth insight into key medical and health challenges and profer solutions to the posers identified.
The anniversary will also showcase its healthcare Communication special edition, this will entails the full contents, biography of the special personalities who have given positive impact by providing health supports to the society as a whole
As a way of giving back to the community on its corporate social responsibility, there will be a free health/medical check-up to every interested individual available days before the anniversary commenses at the Healthcare Communications office, Ikeja.
Speaking on the forth coming Anniversary, The founder, Dr. Olaosebikan OON, said ” the essence of this conference and award is to promote excellence in health care delivery in Nigeria, to address the issue of medical tourism and better funding healthcare,promote investment in the health sectors and to improve the contribution of Healthcare workforce
He further said Nigerian should be the mecca for good health care in Africa.
According to Dr. Olaosebikan “there will be a post conference health care technical report that will be presented to the hospital, policy makers, investors and interested individual can access it through our website.” The statement said.
