The Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Wednesday, stormed Osun State, to campaign for Lasun Yussuf, his party’s candidate in Saturday’s governorship election.
Obi appealed to residents not to sell their votes, advising residents to collect money from vote buyers and then vote for Labour Party.
He said Yusuf is competent and capable to be the next Governor of Osun.
While speaking, the Labour Party candidate said he would make life better for the people if elected.
Yusuf said he would alleviate the suffering of the people of Osun, promising youths in the state that they would be gainfully employed if he becomes the governor.
Governorship candidate in the July 16 governorship election in Osun State on Wednesday signed peace accord and pledged to conduct themselves in peace manner during the election.
Meanwhile, governorship candidates signed a Peace Accord facilitated by the National Peace Committee under the chairmanship of former Head of State, General Abubakar Abdulsallam and the Kukah Center
The candidate of All Progressive Congress, Adegboyega Oyetola and the candidate of People Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke were among the candidates that signed the peace accord.
The event was witnessed by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, President of Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, and members of the Civil Societies.
Ooni of Ife commended the candidates for the maturity they displayed and appealed to them to sustain it throughout the election period.
He said the traditional rulers will also play their party to make the election hitch free in their various communities.
