A Non Governmental Organisation(NGO), the Parliament of One and Indivisible Nigeria, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to do justice and be fair in the appointment of the next Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI).
AN APPEAL FOR ONE AND INDIVISIBLE NIGERIA: A HUMBLE PLEA TO OUR BROTHERS, OUR LEADERS, AND OUR INCORRUPTIBLE PRESIDENT
Fellow Nigerians, we salute your courage and strength in the midst of all.
Herewith is our goodwill message to you. Let not the differences in our languages, tribes, religions, and beliefs divide us further. Let us stop forthwith all that divide us. We are brothers and Nigeria is our home. War will destroy this precious home of ours if we fail to be conscious of our actions. Let us like a strong bond join our hands together and build this home of ours together in one love and accord.
To our leaders:
Do things that will make us see ourselves as one. Let your policies reflect the unity in our existence, as one nation bound in love. Avoid lopsidedness in appointments into government/public offices.
To our highly revered President:
We are proud to have you as our leader. We appreciate your love for Nigeria and your desire that we live together in peace as one family. We will stand always by you.
Your excellency, sir, it is necessary that we draw your attention to the need to do justice in the area of equitable appointments of heads of Federal agencies and government parastatals. It is one area, sir, that you need to be concerned and we believe that you will do justice in this regard. Our ears are filled up already concerning the vacant seat of Comptroller-General of Immigration Service which has someone on it now, in acting capacity, pending your appointment of a substantive head of the Service. We know you are a leader of high integrity, incorruptible, and who leads with the fear of God. In your choice of appointment of the next Comptroller-General of Immigration, we humbly appeal that you do justice and be fair. Let the appointment reassure those grumbling already that ‘you are for all’, not minding if one is a male or female. Such decision will help address whatsoever imbalances ever noticed, perhaps none was ever consciously done.
We hereby plead that you go through the list below to have a well-informed details of past CGIs to help you perfect the healing we all need to build on the unity we desire as an indivisible entity.
