The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has been closed indefinitely by the management of the institution, while the SUG was also disbanded indefinitely.
Moments back, the management of the institution announced on Voice 89.9 FM, that the institution has been closed with immediate effect, while ordering students to vacate the premises before 10am tomorrow 11th September 2019.
This is coming after a protest by students of the institution turned violent earlier today, leading to the loss of life and property.
According to earlier reports, two students of the institution were killed by policemen, while many others left injured. This led the students of the institution to on rampage, attacking policemen and destroying government vehicles.
Before the incident, the FUOYE students were protesting against the BEDC over lack of electricity in the town.
Though, the Nigeria Police Force, Ekiti State Command in their own response denied reports that policemen shot and killed two students of FUOYE who were protesting today.
The management of the institution has now reacted to the turn of events by announcing the immediate and indefinite closure of the university to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

Students to vacate Premises not later than 10am Tomorrow (Wednesday)
“Following the unfortunate incident acted out by some youths in Oye Ekiti earlier today, the authorities of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) hereby announces the immediate and indefinite closure of the university to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
In the same vein, the students union of the institution is disbanded indefinitely.
Following this closure, the students population are hereby ordered to vacate the university premises no later than 10am tomorrow 11th September 2019.
