In Yorubaland, the office of Aare Ona Kakanfo is regarded with awe if not outright fear, as any holder of the office is look upon as a personification of everything that is Iku (death) in Iku-baba-yeye the Imperial Majesty himself.

Could it be true, can anyone dare the Leopard not to say in his lair! How come?
Well, there are some myths attached to the office of Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, but then the story.

The story was…
“Aare Gani Adams had sent Femi Agunbiade to his bank to make a deposit of part of the money into the account of 10 Degrees Event Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, to secure the use of their venue for the celebration ceremony of his second anniversary as the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland while the balance should be forwarded to the account of one of his spiritualists, who is based in Ugbe Akoko in his home state of Ondo.
But instead of carrying out the detailed instructions, Femi Agunbiade was said to have disappeared with the money”
This is where the story got interesting and why it was received with mixed feelings by people, especially those with inside knowledge of Aare Ganiu Adams domestic structure.

To them Femi Agunbiade is not the kind that could betray Aare Adams not to talk of running away with as speculated, a cheap 2million Naira, not even in the face of all the maltreatments they ‘insiders’ says Femi Agunbiade suffered in the hands of his principal.

What is two millions to a man who had been warehousing money in the hundreds of millions for the same principal without a kobo missing at account?
Something must be wrong, there must be more to it than meets the eyes.
Now suddenly there is this muffled news that what happened to Femi Agunbiade was far from ordinary and as verified; Femi Agunbiade had returned every kobo of the actual 1 million Naira at issue Aare who himself was stunned beyond words.
According to a very close and reliable inside source at Omole,  Femi Agunbiade was a victim of vicious competition that casted a spell, what Yoruba people calls ‘eedi’ on him, it is a metaphysics practice in which the target is spiritually programmed to misbehaves and run into a trouble that would leave his post vacant on the long run for the competition. It is with this knowledge that Femi Agunbiade after returning the money to Aare and despite pleas from those who knows what actually transpired declined to resume at his former post and opted to stay out of Omole.

Now that Femi has returned the money, what rankles most people that were privy to the incident was the dispositions of Aare Gani Adams during the pendency of the case, given his reach, he was expected to use the capability of his office to get to the root of the problem in order to douse future occurrence but the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland appeared throughout the time to be more concerned with the money involved than getting to know why?
Could that be due to the acclaimed myths of the office?
