Former Tottenham winger, Jermaine Jenas has noted that William Saliba’s display in the heart of Arsenal’s defence this season has ‘exposed’ Gabriel Magalhaes.
Saliba has shone like a million stars since returning from his loan spell from Marseille, making an immediate impact in Mikel Arteta’s team.
The 21-year-old France international has forged a solid partnership, alongside Gabriel in Arsenal’s defence.
And Jenas feels the Frenchman’s showings this season have upstaged his Brazilian defence partner, Gabriel, who gave away the penalty in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Tottenham on Saturday.
“I just feel like Saliba has elevated the level that it’s just exposed Gabriel a little bit,” Jenas told Vibe with Five.
“He’s [Gabriel] still very good, he’s still a very good centre-half.“
But all of a sudden, you’re looking at Saliba and you’re saying, ‘we need another one of you.”
