Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, has said that his team defeated Manchester City 2-1 in a Premier League tie on Saturday because his players put in a ‘mind-blowing performance’ at the Etihad Stadium.
Frank watched as two goals from Ivan Toney gave Brentford all three points against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Frank also said that he was satisfied with the result against Man City, adding that Brentford completely eliminated the host.
Frank said, “One of the most satisfying wins we have had, I think the playoff final will always be the one, getting us to the promised land. But, of course, it’s up there.
“Speaking to some people from the club, this is probably the single biggest ever result against one of the richest clubs in the world, and we’ve one of the lowest budgets in the division. We are just a bus stop in Hounslow.
“From my perspective, it was well deserved if you look at the chances. I think we eliminated them. I am unbelievably proud. We are missing four of our starters as well. Mind-blowing performance.”
