The management of Y North, a Nigerian largest Indigenous fashion brand has called on the Federal Government and governor’s of kwara, Osun and Lagos to come to their aid as the company have lost goods worth over 38million naira.
The Managing Director of Y North, Mr Babalola Oluwaseun Bamiro said suspected hoodlums burgled his store in Palms Mall, Ilorin store completely which had over 30million naira worth of goods, in Osun Mall in Osogbo the goods carted away were over 2million naira and in SPA Mall in Lekki, worth a million naira.
Y North condemned the act of rubbery, saying that many businesses are being affected and only government can ride up and help many business owners who were affected.
The country’s largest Indigenous fashion brand listed items stollen,, belts, children and adults shoes, jewelries, costumes, make up kits, shirts among others.
He also called on Kwara state government to ensure looters do not hijack the process of supporting business owners who were affected. Stating that the use of online forms may not become fraudulent as persons who did not lose anything may come out to also claim compensations.
Y North said government during on the spot assessment should have noted and listed organisations that should be compensated after loosing so much.
Bamiro also appealed to the federal government to come to his aid at this time that many businesses are struggling to survive.
He also called on well meaning Nigerians home and abroad to assist and save his business from a major collapse.
Mr Bamiro noted that Y North has 60 Outlets and Stores across the country with about 100 staff working across the country. Adding that it is pathetic for an indigenous brand to be experiencing such a major loss having contributed immensely to the economic development of the country.
