As Muslim faithful all over the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on OYSIEC, Hon. Tallest Innocent has congratulated the Muslim Ummah urging them to pray for the unity of Nigeria and better tolerance for the good of all; regardless of religious affiliation.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Governor read in part “ the society we crave for, can only be achieved through tolerance and deep respect for our divergent views in critical issues, I urge you all my dear brothers to pray for the unity of our dear country. Challenges are part of the process of societal improvement and ours is not an exception, with greater tolerance of religion, we will live better and co-exist with peace and love”
Hon. Tallest equally emphasized the need for residents of Oyo state to participate actively in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission’s Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise describing it as part and parcel of a normal process in a democracy.
He noted that INEC, having commenced online and physical registration at the various local government offices, will soon devolve the exercise to ward levels for easy access “ the time has come for people to walk into designated INEC offices to register and obtain their PVCs all year round, it is a normal and continuous civic process that strengthens democracy. It is unrestricted to all Nigerians from 18years and above”. He also said that the exercise offers an opportunity for persons to correct information on their data.
