The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has described Otunba Gbenga Daniel as a wonderful personality with brilliant pedigree who is eminently qualified to lead the Peoples Democratic Party and bring power back to the people.
Ikpeazu said this when Daniel paid him a courtesy call at his office in Umuahia as part of his nationwide campaign tour for the office of National Chairman.
Daniel was accompanied by the former National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor.
Ikpeazu stated that he has been a keen admirer of Daniel when he was in office as governor and how he has comported himself as a successful professional out of office.
In his words: “Otunba Daniel is a likable personality who many people believe can deliver if given the opportunity.”
He also holds the belief that the palpable agitation in the land, especially in the East, could only be doused if there is equity in power sharing among the major ethnic groups, while aligning with the aspiration of Daniel who is seeking for the post of National Chairman.
According to him, it is high time the Igbos are well integrated into the polity to ensure equity and justice in the land.
Ogbulafor, in his own statement, extolled the virtues of Daniel as a highly respectful personality who can be entrusted with the future of the PDP.
He said: “OGD worked very well with me when I was the National Chairman and it is only morally right for me to work with him too in his quest for the National Chairmanship of the party.”
Daniel then expressed his gratitude for the honour accorded him and his team.
He highlighted some challenges being faced by the PDP, chief among which was impunity and lack of internal democracy.
He promised a new dawn for the party if elected as Chairman.
