The Council Manager, Ilesa North East LCDA, Osun State, Mr. Yakubu Oni has reiterated the efforts of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s led administration in the state towards the promotion of quality education across the state as well as commitment to enhance good neighborliness and bilateral cohesion with the St. Lawrence’s Middle Schools I & II.
The Council Manager made this known at the formal handing over of a two blocks of two (2) classrooms each to the authority of St. Lawrence’s Middle School II, Imo, Ilesa yesterday.
Oni said, the development was sequel to a complete renovation of the classrooms that were dilapidated, already abandoned (not in use) and in return for a block ceded to the permanent site of the new LCDA.
According to Oni, “It was on 8th March, 2016 that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is the Governor of the state, announced the creation of 31 new Local Council Development Areas, little did the people of Ilesa North East LCDA know that dividends of grassroots governance would soon get to them”.
Oni said further that, it has become a thing of joy for the residents of the Council area today as the incumbent administration in Osun has brought government into their midst without stress.
He assured that, the Ilesa North East LCDA in its own capacity and in collaboration with the state government would continue to work for the development of all and sundry in the area.
However in a brief comment by a philanthropist of the school, Mr. Adebayo Jimoh, applauded the vision of Mr. Governor for creating the LCDA to bring benefits of governance closer to the people.
He, however, wished the new LCDA more success and further friendly relations with the school and enjoin people to continue to demonstrate their unalloyed support to the state government.
An interdenominational prayer session was later held at the LCDA Secretariat for development of the LCDA, progress in Osun as well as good health for President Muhammad Buhari and enduring peace in the nation at large.
Among dignitaries present were community leaders, including Chief Olowookere, Chairman, Local Government Creation Committee and other members, religious clerics from both Islam and Christianity represented by Alh. Kayode Olawuyi, Chief Imam,Imo and Pastor John, CAN Chairman, Ilesa East Local Government respectively among others.
