The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned that Nigeria is likely to experience shortage of drugs if the Coronavirus epidemic continues in China.
The Director-General of the agency, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, gave the warning while briefing newsmen in Abuja, adding that India, which Nigeria depend on for a greater percentage of its drugs imports has already been hit by ravaging effect of the virus.
Adeyete further explained that India buys most of their materials and active ingredients from China Nigeria imports 70 percent of its medicines as well as active and non-active ingredients mostly from the South Asian country.
