A 15-member medical team from China has arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The medical personnel, who landed around 5:15 pm were received by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian; Executive Director, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Mr Jacques Liao as well as senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health amongst others.
This is coming after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) rejected plans by the Federal Government to invite the Chinese medical team to help Nigeria in her fight against the deadly Coronavirus.
NMA President, Francis Faduyile had described the move as a “misplaced priority and a thing of embarrassment to the membership of the Association and other health workers, who are giving their best in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic under deplorable working conditions.”
