Buhari Nominates Emefiele As CBN Governor For 2nd Term
President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Godwin Emefiele for a second term as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Emefiele was first appointed in 2014 by former president Goodluck Jonathan and was retained when Buhari came to office in 2015.
This was made known via a letter the President sent to the Senate.
The letter was read by the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Thursday during plenary.
Emefiele’s first term tenure of four years is due to end in June.
