Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jordan Romano has been added to the American League roster of the MLB All-Star Game, per Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith.
Romano will replace Framber Valdez of the Houston Astros. Astros manager Dusty Baker told media Sunday morning that Valdez would not be pitching.
This season, Romano has a 4-4 record with an ERA of 2.95, 47 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.15 and four saves in his last seven games.
He will join Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Whit Merrifield representing the Blue Jays at the All-Star Game.
Pitcher Kevin Gausman was named to the starting pitcher roster for the game, but will not be attending in order to spend the week with his family.
