There are three signs of a hypocrite: when he speaks he speaks lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is trusted he betrays his trust.
It’s highly pathetic and saddened to read from a man, Gani Adams, who proudly claiming and boasting of promoting Yoruba culture, traditions and unity, attacking a calibre of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who is old enough to be his father.
I was appalled while watching and monitoring abusive comments coming from Gani Adams and his members lately on different social media platforms against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of All Progressive Congress and one of frontline Yoruba leaders.
It is on this note that the Oodua Progressive Care Initiative (OPCI), a registered Yoruba organization with the aims and objectives of promoting, reviving Yoruba cultural heritage values hereby openly and outrightly condemn the verbal attacks on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Mr Gani Adams.
In every sense of reasoning, no responsible and reliable Yoruba will support such a disrespectful act from Gani. Where is the place of values and integrity (Omoluabi)? Was he appointed as Aare Onakakanfo to unite Yorubaland or to bring disharmony?
It is on record that ninety percent of predicament and tribulations that were faced by Chief Obafemi Awolowo from 1953- 1983 came from the Yorubas, same as the untimely death of Chief MKO Abiola reclaiming his June 12 mandate.
It is the same Yorubas that contributed to his problems.Yoruba, we are the problems of ourselves all the times. Why this acrimony, rancor and bitterness against ourselves always?
The biggest enemies of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo today are Yorubas.
It is highly unfortunate that Gani Adams is treading the same path of destroying the Yoruba prominent sons and daughters. He never reasons beyond his nose and think twice before throwing verbal missiles on any Yoruba personality who fail to joke with him over money, forgetting that he is writing another unforgivable history for himself and his children.
Gani Adams has never seen anything good in Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the same thing he did to Dr. Fredrick Faseun, the founder of Oodua People’s Congress, after he plotted a coup against the leadership of the Faseun in 1999. Faseun is no more, Chief Obasanjo is no more in power.
It is now Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, why only you, Gani Adams all the time? There are lots of Yoruba enemies that you ought to have waged war against if you truly want to fight for the Yorubas. Why destabilizing the peace and harmony of Yorubaland?
The Oodua Progressive Care Initiative is not a political party neither do we have an affiliation with any political party, but we belong to every political party and all political parties belong to us as far as there are Yorubas are in the parties.
For those of us who have been with Gani Adams over the years before we parted ways with him as a result of his bad leadership and selfish mannerisms, it did not come to us as a surprise that Adams has forgotten the roles and efforts of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his life, when he was Mr Nobody. This is very unfortunate. It shows he’s an ungrateful man. ”An ungrateful man is like a hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from”
On Tuesday, he had instructed all his state coordinators of Oodua People’s Congress to issue a press statement in support of his plan to dent the image of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. We heard that he threatened them and placed them on oaths. Is that a man you call a leader, someone who claims to be protecting the interests of Yoruba race?
However, we call on the general public to ignore Gani Adams’ statements and outbursts on Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. We know him for such act; especially when he’s down financially, he could go extra miles to blackmail people in exchange for money. He’s very smart when it comes to blackmailing people.
Gani Adams is a pathological liar, he should be checked.
His activities during the 2015 general elections are still very fresh in our memories, when he openly declared support for Dr Goodluck Jonathan. He sold his conscience because of money.
It will be very disappointing to see anyone believing Gani Adams has the interest of Yorubaland at heart. The philosophy of our friend is, money for hand back for ground. He’s a wheeler dealer.
What should be paramount to all Yorubas now is how to overcome all the challenges facing our dear Yoruba nation and to support ourselves to achieve the achievable goals.
