The people of Akoko must put aside religious and other differences and focus on the collective security of the entire Akoko land.
Our traditional rulers, local government chairmen, and political leaders across Akoko must be vigilant, proactive, and deliberate in matters of security.
We must not allow the recent tragic incident in Kwara State where many innocent lives were lost in a violent attack to happen here. Kwara State shares proximity with Kogi State, and Kogi, in turn, is close to Akoko. What occurred in Kwara should not be treated lightly; it must serve as a serious warning and a possible test run of what could spread if urgent preventive measures are not taken.
Therefore, leaders in Akoko must immediately strengthen collaboration with the Amotekun Corps and other security agencies, intensify surveillance, tighten security operations, and close any gaps that criminals could exploit.
The threat is near. I have raised this concern before and will continue to do so because security is everyone’s responsibility. I will not sit comfortably in Lagos and watch Akoko descend into chaos. The safety of our people remains my utmost priority.
Let us all, leaders and citizens alike be alert and play our respective roles in protecting lives, property, and the future of the entire Akoko land. Security is not optional; it is a necessity.
Enemies are at the backdoor. Let us stay watchful.
God bless the Akoko Kingdom.
