Air passengers will experience delays in boarding as the management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, announced a temporary disruption affecting flight operations at its domestic terminals.
According to an operational update, the disruption will specifically impact baggage processing. It was attributed to a technical glitch with baggage screening equipment within the terminal, which has slowed standard processing procedures.
The management stated that it understands the inconvenience and uncertainty this may cause and expressed appreciation for passengers’ patience during this period.
To minimise disruption, alternative screening procedures have been activated using available equipment to ensure that flights continue operating safely. However, these additional steps may result in longer processing times and possible delays to some departures.
Ground teams have been fully mobilised to support passengers, provide updates, and prioritise affected flights. The management also noted that it is working closely with airport authorities to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and restore normal operations.
Passengers were assured that efforts are ongoing to expedite the process and reduce the impact on travel plans. The management apologised for the inconvenience and thanked travellers for their understanding and cooperation, while promising further updates as the situation improves.
