Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ademola Adeleke yesterday shunned the governorship debate organised by Arise Television as other contenders reeled out their manifestos.
Candidates who attended the debate were Governor Gboyega Oyetola (APC); Akin Ogunbiyi (Accord Party); Lasun Yusuf (Labour Party); and Goke Omigbodun (SDP).
Ogunbiyi said he will set up proper policies to check illegal mining, conduct local government elections, create 100,000 jobs for youths, give interest free loans and make primary education compulsorily free.
Governor Oyetola said his administration has attracted about 10 industries to the state since he became governor. He added that he prioritised skills acquisition as a means of improving the economy. Stressing that his government employed 1,000 teachers and over 20,000 youths to Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme, he also rated his administration high on infrastructure, education, welfare, security, health and mining.
Lasun, on his part, pledged to concentrate on agriculture to improve the economy as he vowed to create over 60,000 jobs if elected.
Omigbodun said he will revolutionise the state with his experience and knowledge of mining, agriculture and technology.
