The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Sunday threw his weight behind the lockdown order by President Muhammadu Buhari to contain spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adeboye advised Nigerians to stay at home as part of measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
The cleric, who spoke in a live broadcast by the DOVE Television on Special Sunday Service with Daddy GO monitored by our correspondent, said an order needs to be obeyed.
They claimed they are hungry and want to go about their normal businesses while others are of the opinion that the lockdown is the best way to tackle the pandemic.
Reading from Acts 1:4-8, Adeboye said: “There are categories of power. There is political power. Ecclesiastes 8:4 says where the word of a king is, there is power.
“You put it in the modern language, where the word of the President is, there is power.
“If you don’t believe that, just check what is happening now. The President sits in his house and makes a decree or pronouncement, everybody stay at home and if you love yourself, stay at home”.
Adeboye admonished Christians to continue to pray no matter the situation.
