The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Nigeria and Libya, which was scheduled to take place tonight, October 15.
In a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, CAF stated that “the match will not be held as planned,” citing unresolved issues between the two teams.
The football body also revealed that the matter will be referred to the appropriate CAF committees for further deliberation.
The statement reads, “The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Qualifier fixture between Libya and Nigeria will not take place as scheduled tonight.
“The matter will be referred to the competent CAF bodies.”
