Chiamaka Nnadozie, Super Falcons of Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper, has been named the best goalkeeper in the 2023/24 French Division 1 Feminine League by the Union for Professional Football Players (UNFP).
The 23-year-old won the prize at the UNFP Trophies gala held in Paris on Monday night.
The award was organised by UNFP, the main trade union for professional footballers playing in France.
Nnadozie received the individual accolade for her impressive display throughout the season. She produced penalty saves among other stops to help Paris FC, her club, finish third in the regular season and qualify for the playoffs.
The Falcons goalkeeper was also named in the French Division 1 Feminine League (D1 Arkema) for the 2023/24 season.
Last month, Nnadozie was also named the best goalkeeper in the D1 Arkema by the league body.
The goalkeeper’s impressive form transcends her performance for Paris FC, she was instrumental in Nigeria’s bid to qualify for the women’s football event at the Paris Olympics.
Nnadozie conceded just one goal in six matches against Ethiopia, Cameroon and South Africa as the Super Falcons booked a place at the Olympics for the first time since 2008.
