The Monday commute has been off to a rocky start for TTC riders as subway service has been shut down on a portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth due to “slippery track conditions.”
Around 7 a.m., trains stopped running between St. George and Broadview stations but it has since been expanded to Woodbine Station. Shuttle buses are operating.
The TTC says a work car leaked some fluid on the tracks near Sherbourne Station.
“Service is temporarily suspended for safety reasons in this area while we investigate and remedy,” it stated in a post on X.
There is no word yet on when service will resume.
Officials say riders can take GO Transit from Main to Union stations for the price of a TTC fare. Additional streetcars are also running on the 504 King and 505 Dundas routes.
