Davido and Asake are among the Nigerian music heavyweights who will perform at the 2023 Trace Awards.
Organisers of the award ceremony event recently released a star-studded lineup for the inaugural Trace Awards.
Also making the list of performing acts are Kizz Daniel, Bamby, Benjamin Dube, Black Sherif, Blxckie, Bruce Melodie, Bwiza, Didi B, Dystinct, Janet Otieno, Josey and Lisandro Cuxi.
Other artistes include Locko, Mikl, Perola, Plutionk, Princess Lover, Ronisia, Rutshelle Guillaume, Soraia Ramos, Tay C, Terrell Elymoor, and Viviane Chidid.
The Compozers, the music band, are also expected to be the house band at the event.
The organisers said more performers will be announced at a later date.
The award show will be broadcast live on Trace TV channels, radio and digital platforms, global streaming platforms, and satellite channels.
The organisers had earlier announced the nominee list, with Davido and Burna Boy bagging four nominations each.
Olivier Laouchez, Trace chairman and co-founder, described African artistes as “extraordinarily creative and dynamic”.
“They represent a massive cultural force and deserve more global recognition and celebration. The Trace Awards’ nominations salute achievement and excellence from more than 150 performers,” he had said.
“We congratulate all the nominees, most of whom will attend and perform in Kigali on 21 October. It will be an unmissable experience for lovers of African and Afro-inspired music.”
The event is expected to take place on October 21, 2023, at the BK Arena, Kigali, Rwanda.
