Adekunle Gold, the singer, has surprised Simi, his celebrity wife, with a customised diamond necklace on her birthday.
Simi, also a singer, turned 35 on April 19.
To celebrate her on the special occasion, Gold took to his Instagram page to lavish his wife with romantic words.
The Afrobeats star shared a photo of Simi in Marrakech, Morocco, where they are currently on vacation.
Gold also blessed the day they met each other at Bogobiri House — an African-themed boutique hotel and restaurant located in Ikoyi — 10 years ago.
“God bless the day I met you at Bogobiri 10 years ago. 10 years of being my magic. I’m grateful for you, for everything you do. Been through it all with you so as we start to dey chop life now, we go live it up to the fullest,” he wrote.
“Orente mi, Ati lowo, Ati nile lori, Ati bimo, Alafia njoba ninu ile’wa, Aye wa dun bi oyin. Happy Birthday Girl of my youth.”
Gold accompanied the post with a video wherein he was wearing the customised diamond necklace on Simi.
The lovebirds tied the knot at a low-key ceremony in January 2019 and welcomed their first child together in June last year.
Simi broke into the mainstream with her single ‘Tiff’ in 2014.
She has since established herself in the Nigerian music industry as a well-known singer while bagging several awards.
Her 2017 eponymous album ‘Simisola’ won the ‘Album of the Year’ at The Headies.
Adekunle Gold, on the other hand, gained fame after putting out ‘Sade’, his 2015 hit.
He recently opened up about his past struggles with sickle cell anemia.
