Don Jazzy, the music producer, has advised artistes to emulate Davido when promoting their projects.
In a tweet on Monday, the Marvin Records head honcho commended Davido for not relying on his popularity to push his new album.
He also urged musicians to adopt Davido’s marketing strategy, adding that it won’t diminish their reputation.
“Dear artists hope you can see how Davido is marketing his album. He didn’t form oh I’m OBO so everybody will cop my shit,” he wrote.
“Marketing your beautiful project that you worked hard on does not reduce your swag.”
Davido recently released ‘Timeless’, his fourth album which featured 17 tracks.
The singer collaborated with various artistes such as Asake, Fave, Focalistic, Angelique Kidjo, and Skepta, among others.
Tracks in the project include ‘Over Dem’, ‘In the Garden, ‘Godfather,’ ‘Feel,’ ‘Unavailable’, ‘Kante’, ‘Bop’, ‘E Pain Me’, ‘Away,’ ‘Precision’, and ‘Na Money.’
Others include ‘U (Juju)’, ‘No Competition’, ‘Picasso’, ‘For the Road’, ‘LCND’, and ‘Champion Sound’.
Davido recently revealed Don Jazzy suggested the name ‘Timeless’ for his album.
“Funny enough, Jazzy actually DMed me like a year ago and suggested that I named my album Timeless. In the end I changed it like two months ago and changed it back,” he said.
Prior to the project’s release, Davido announced that he would be having concerts in London, New York, and Lagos with respect to the album.
The singer already held his New York and London concerts on April 2 and April 5, respectively.
Davido’s Lagos concert is scheduled to hold on April 25.
Since the launch of the album, ‘Timeless’ has continued to rake in millions of streams across global music platforms.
