The musician took to his social media pages on Friday to announce the song’s release.
In ‘Ara’, which is the Yoruba word for ‘wonder’, Shmurda talks about the good life.
He also sings about his transition from a school dullard to having a successful music career.
“Olodo ni ko mọwe oh/Osanle ko kawe/Mowashe lọ mọwe/Woni Bella shoma shey?, lọla satira/Ma Jago Rahmoni, ma sharıya/Ma shakiti bọbọ, falila/Mashishe, ma reree, sha’min sha/lọla satira,” he sings in Yoruba.
“Ara mon da ni (Gen gen tin)/Make I no dey beg for food (Gen gen tin)/Make my motor pim pim pim (Gen gen tin)/Anything I buy, I buy for two (Gen gen tin)/Ara mon da ni (Gen gen tin)/Kan ma lo koba mi (Gen gen tin)/Make their eyes no see me (Gen gen tin)/ Make their arrow no touch me (Gen gеn tin).”
Born Akinyibi Ahmed, Shmurda began his career when he released ‘Vision 2020’, his 2019 single.
He continued his impressive run in 2020 with the release of the chart-topping hit ‘Cash App’ which featured Zlatan Ibile and Lincoln.
The song shot him into the limelight and also earned him recognition including a nomination for the ‘Next Rated’ category at the 14th edition of The Headies.
