Special weather statements have been issued for Toronto and most of southern Ontario ahead of an impending winter storm.
Environment Canada says a messy mix of snow, ice pellets or freezing rain is expected to begin Monday afternoon or early Monday evening coupled with strong winds.
“It’s going to be messy with different types of precipitation playing out, especially into Monday night with that mixing,” said CityNews 680 weather specialize Denise Andreacchi.
“We do begin tomorrow afternoon with that snow. We could see 2 to 4 cm just through tomorrow afternoon and then more of that mixing as we move into the evening so the commute tomorrow will be impacted.”
Strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h are also expected into Monday night with Environment Canada warning possible power outages are possible.
