Banky W says his journey in politics has been a “baptism of fire” but he remains positive.
In a recent chat with Channels TV, the actor said he has participated in a number of peaceful protests like EndSARS, Enough is Enough, Bring Back Our Girls, Occupy Nigeria, and Light Up Nigeria.
“So far so good, the journey has been a baptism of fire but a very positive and inspiring journey. It dawned on me some time ago that we needed to start moving from protests to power,” he said.
“The goal of activism and advocacy is change, improvement, and impact.
The musician said he has been a successful entertainer, entrepreneur and business person, and believes now is the time for “innovation and reformation. We need to get into the system to fix it from within.”
Banky W said he should be able to stick his neck out and try to get into the government of the country.
He said this is because of “the education, audience, and experience” he has had as “a servant of the community.”
Banky W said: “In 2019, we planted the seed but in 2023, by God’s grace we will win the seed.”
The musician also spoke on how he has learned “very interesting lessons” he’ll be applying now as he contests again.
“I’m very optimistic and positive that we’re going to win this time by God’s grace,” the singer-politician said.
Banky W is vying to represent the Eti-Osa federal constituency in the house of representatives on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
