Yemi Alade, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has put out ‘African Baddie’, her highly anticipated extended play (EP).
The 32-year-old announced the release of the project across all streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday.
For her third EP, Alade enlists Nigerian music heavyweights as well as international acts.
They include Zlatan, Phyno, Spice, Bisa Kdei, Bramsito, Joe Dwêt File, and Lemar.
Songs in the ten-track project include ‘Overload’, ‘Pounds & Dollars’, ‘Jo Jo’, ‘Baddie’, ‘Ikebe’, ‘Dje Dje’, ‘Get Down’, ‘My Man (French version)’, ‘Bubble It’ and ‘Begging’.
Yemi Alade has established a name for herself as one of the most prominent female musicians in the country.
She rose to the limelight with the release of ‘Johnny’, her 2014 single.
Yemi Alade is a BET Awards 2015 and 2016 nominee for ‘Best International Act Africa’; a two-time MOBO Awards nominee for ‘Best International Act’ 2014 and 2015.
She is also the winner of the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) for Best Female 2015 and 2016.
Following her feature on ‘Lion King’, Beyonce’s 2019 album, Alade signed a licensing deal with Universal Music Group (UMG) Africa as an exclusive worldwide record music partner with Effyzzie Music Group, her label.
