A front line Yoruba organisation, formed by Otunba Gani Adams to protect and defend the interest of Yoruba race, as well as promoting Yoruba cultural heritages both at home and in diaspora.
The group which was formed some years back with chapters in over seventy seven countries.
One of the chapters, Malaysia chapter, rose up in their monthly meeting held on Saturday 25th of March, 2017 at Kuala Lumpur and kicked against the one-side arrests of 20 Yorubas by the Nigeria Police in the recent crisis between the Yoruba and Hausa in Ile-Ife.
In his speech, the Country Coordinator of the group who also doubled as the Worldwide Treasurer of OPU, Prince Olawale Ayinla said the arrest is uncalled and unconstitutional. He criticised the police for its action and kicked against the stand of IGP. Prince Ayinla further described the arrest as sectional and unacceptable to the entire Yoruba people. He also kicked against the way Federal Government was handling the communal clash in Ile-Ife.
He therfore, urge the police to transfer those arrested to Osun State where the incident occurred.
