Vincent Ogbulafor, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is dead.
Ogbulafor died in Canada on Thursday after a brief undisclosed illness at 73, according to a report by ThisDay.
Goddy Uwazurike, lawyer and close associate of the deceased, said Ogbulafor would be buried next year.
“Chief Vincent Ogbulafor KSM really died in the early hours of today in Canada at 73. The Royal Family of Ogbulafor will announce a date for the burial ceremonies, which will most likely take place next year,” Uwazurike said.
He was the head of the family. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord. Let perpetual light shine on him.”
Ogbulafor was born on May 24, 1949, in Olokoro, Umuahia south LGA of Abia state.
He was also a former national secretary of the PDP.
While serving as the party’s chairman, he resigned his appointment after being charged with alleged financial recklessness while serving as a minister.
He was reputed to have boasted that the PDP would rule for 40 years, a wish truncated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the 2015 presidential poll.
Ogbulafor was succeeded as the party’s national chairman by Okwesilieze Nwodo, a former Enugu governor.
