Mixed reactions have continued to trail the new jerseys for the Super Eagles as launched by Nike on Thursday.
The jersey has Nigeria’s two colours – green and white and has the eagle, which is the symbol of the strength on the coat of arms, and also is the nickname of the senior national team.
The jersey- home and away is white with green neckband and all green with eagle designs on it and green shorts.
While the Super Eagles will not be at the World Cup, the jerseys are set to gain a global attention as expected, with some designs that may raise eyebrows.
A semblance of the local Adire designs common to the Western region of the Country, and it carries the Nigeria Football Federation emblem on the left and the Nike logo on the right breasts respectively.
However the shorts maintain the typical block green and light shade green strip on the side.

Recall that the Nigerian jersey had the highest following and sales at the 2018 World Cup when the Super Eagles wore it in Russia. The home jersey of green and white is still considered one of the Super Eagles’ best jerseys of all time.
