The Acting Executive Secretary, Office of Transportation, Osun State, Engr. Wahab Olayiwola Ibrahim has described the efforts of Governor Rauf Aregbesola on road projects in the state as fantastic.
The Acting Executive Secretary made this observation while receiving members of the Nigeria Institution of Mechanical Engineers, NIMECHE, Osun State Chapter in his office.
Ibrahim, who described Mr Governor’s efforts on the 30 kilometre dualization of Gbongan-Akoda road, Chief Adebisi Akande Trumpet Interchange Bridge and the 30.20 kilometers reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gbongan-Iwo-Oyo road among others across the state as a good omen that has never happened since the inception of the state noted that, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s name would continue to be on the marble of the state forever.
“All these road projects, by the time they are ready for completion would certainly be a masterpiece”, Ibrahim added.
The Osun Office of Transportation boss, who mentioned one of the objectives of his office as to ensure that all vehicles plying the road in the state are mechanically road worthy, appreciated the courtesy visit by NIMECHE to him while calling on members across the state to be fearless, industrious and honest in carrying out their duties.
According to Ibrahim, “the role of engineers in the smooth running of government machinery and the attainment of goals setting cannot be over emphasised.
” Engineers are the key drivers in the formulation and execution of policies, programmes, and projects that will deliver government’s promises to the people”, he added.
Ibrahim, who enjoined members of mechanical engineering sectors to shun corruption and be men and women of integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities assured of his unflinching support to NIMECHE which is also one of the division under the Nigeria Society of Engineers, NSE, all the time.
Ibrahim, further urged them to continue to abide by the principles of transparency and accountability, which he described as the hallmarks of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s led administration.
Earlier in his words, the State Chairman of Nigeria Institution of Mechanical Engineers, NIMECHE, Engr. Wasiu Olalekan Idowu, said the courtesy visit was necessary in order to demonstrate their solidarity and expressed their unalloyed support to the Osun Office of Transportation.
