When the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, choiced the appointment of Mr. Oluwasegun Ajiboye as Chief Press Secretary to Governor, many, who follow the ingenious strides and professional excellence of the Akoko -born pen pusher would appreciate the rightness of the governor’s decision.
Ajiboye has been a stellar and highly creative personality whose muse and verve for distinctions have placed on lofty pedestal. The fine mind started professional trade as a journalist on a quiet impressive note and competently travelled through the ranks to the rung of Assistant Editor with The Nation newspaper. Egghead Ajiboye studied Language and Linguistics from the University of Lagos. A native of Irun Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government of Ondo State, he started his journalism career as a reporter with The News magazine in 2000 and moved to The Sun newspaper in 2003.
This highly talented personality, between 2007 and 2009, served as Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State. Ajiboye worked as the Group News Editor of the defunct National Life newspaper until 2012 when he joined The Nation as Assistant Editor of the Saturday title.
Ajiboye is one with rare contents in a world besieged by laziness of mind and ordinary thoughts. He’s one different talent among a preponderance of Nigerian youths of today whose drives are mere. Ajiboye is a journalist with profound fibre of fine leadership. He mentors avalanche of young men, motivating them live a life of worth.
One loud testimony to the high dosage of ingenuity that Ajiboye carries is the fact that we has since the inception of the government of Akeredolu coordinated the public communication and allied matters of the governor and that of the First Lady with resounding successes, making the absence of a commissioner for information and other related appointees yet unnamed not so felt while the lustre of the governor rises significantly by the day.
To have this huge potentials of leadership and dexterous deposits in a man whose humility and fervour for finesse is second to none , is the pleasant surprise. Olusegun Ajiboye has it.
