António Guterres, United Nations (UN) secretary-general, arrived in Borno state on Tuesday to assess the humanitarian situation resulting from Boko Haram attacks in the state.
Guterres was received by Babagana Zulum, Borno state governor, at the Maiduguri International Airport.
He is expected to visit internally displaced persons (IDP) camps while in the state.
It is Guterres’ first visit to Nigeria since his appointment as secretary-general.
