The newly elected Executive Officers for local government branches under the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Osun State Wing, have been enjoined to be proactive in pursuing welfare of their teachers.
The State Chairman and Secretary of the union Comrade Wakeel Alade Amudah and Comrade Mohammed Abdulahi, stated this shortly after the successful conducted local government branches election in the 26 local governments area of the state.
According to the Union Chairman and Secretary, the election in all the affected branches were free and fair with complete demonstration of humility after the results were announced.
” Both the winners and the losers embraced each other while there was a demonstration of sportsmanship by all the contestants after the announcement of the election results”
The state union leadership further called on the new leaders in the various branches across the state to see their position as a call to service towards the upliftment of their members in all ramifications.
Amudah, however thanks the entire members of the union in the state for their unflinching support to him and other members of the state executive since their assumption in office.
It will be recalled that, NUT election into local government Executives hold in every four years while the last one was conducted on 2nd & 3rd of July 2013 when that of this year was held on 3rd & 4th July 2017 respectively.
