Islamic faithful across Nigeria in general, and the Osun State in particular have been enjoined to look beyond the wining and dinning of the Idel-Kabir festival but see the lesson of sacrifice as shown by Prophet Ibrahim himself during his sojourn on earth.
This was contained as part of felictation message sent to all muslims in the state and the country in general by the Secretary to the Government of the State, SSG and a frontline Chieftain of the ruling-All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti.
According to him, Muslims across the world ought to look beyond the festivity and see the need for sacrifice by all and sundry, especially at this time of the country’s economic situation.
“Moment like this call for sober reflection on the part of all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity, religious and political sentiments.
There is no better time for all hands to be on deck than this time, when sacrifice on the part of us all, coupled with fervent prayers should be the order of the day for the country to get of the current economic logjam,” Adeoti stressed.
The prominent politician also emphasised the need for all residents of the State of Osun to shed the toga of shenanigans and see the positive side of the current administration in the state.
“The APC-led administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola has performed beyond all the expectations of the opposition, so the reason for their noise is understood by every discerning mind in the state.
“People ought to be on their guard and see beyond the smokescreen of the opposition as they have never been on the side of the masses.
“Osun indigenes and residents are no fools and can never be let by their noses into slavery for the second time,” Adeoti stated.
As the state inches towards the governorship election next year, the Secretary to the State Government admonished all to pray to the Almighty God to ensure the emergence of the best candidate in the overall interest of the state.
