The Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday has confirmed the raid of the Soka, Ibadan residence of Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho by a team of joint security operatives.
It’s spokesperson, Dr Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a briefing with journalists on Thursday evening in Abuja.
He said the raid was based on intelligence that Igboho was stockpiling arms to cause unrest.
According to him, when the security operatives approached the house, they were attacked by six Igboho’s boys who engaged them in a gun battle.
Two of Igboho’s men were killed while an operative sustained injuries, Afunanya said.
He said Igboho escaped during the gun battle, adding that even if he is on the run, the law would catch up with in.
Afunanya further urged Igboho to turn himself in to security agencies.
Items recoverd from the residence was also displayed, which include arms, traditional armour, charms, international passport amongst others.
