A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Captain Sunday Adebomi has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of June 12 Anniversary tagged Democracy Day.
Adebomi, the Chairman,Ekiti State Emergency Management Agemcy (SEMA) used the occasion to acknowledge the supreme sacrifice made by the late business mogul and acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12,1993, Presidential Election ,Chief Moshood Kasimawo Abiola(MKO)
The governorship aspirant in the 2018 in Ekiti admonished that one of the ways to sustain the June 12 legacies was to give more opportunities to the Nigerian youths in leadership positions .
” I want to congratulate Mr President ,Muhammadu Buhari and the good people of Nigeria on the celebration of another June 12 Anniversary tagged “Democracy Day.
“Let me use this medium to pray for the repose of the soul of the symbol of Nigeria Democracy, late MKO Abiola ,the acclaimed winner of the June12 1993 Presidential Election. I understand the Federal Government and some State Governments had done a number of things to immortalize him but they should not stop at that. Let them continue to supporting and promoting Abiola’s family ” Adebomi admonished.
Adebomi ,a retired Captain in the United States of America (USA) Military also saluted the heroes of the struggle,particularly the governor of Ekiti State and Chairman,Nigeria Governor’s Forum(NGF),Dr Kayode Fayemi and other pro-Democracy activists.
The APC man noted that the youthful advantage had greatly assisted Fayemi in offering an exemplary and charismatic leadership at the NGF,thereby ensuring that there was less tension at the centre .
Captain Adebomi noted that since Dr Fayemi assumed the leadership of the NGF ,there had not been crisis or internal strife amongst the states chief executives .
The APC stalwart, however urged the various ethnic nationalities in Nigeria to work towards peaceful co-existence and shun divisive tendencies .
