Osun State government has restated its commitment to training and retraining of its workforce to enhance their productivity.
The state Commissioner for Heath, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu stated this in Osogbo while declaring open a three day workshop with a theme “Skill Enhancement For Paramedics” to enhance their service delivery for Osun Ambulance Paramedics.
Dr. Isamotu who noted that training was key to productivity hinted that the training would go a long way to reposition the scheme for better performance.
He maintained that the Osun Ambulance had work assiduously to meet the vision of government of reducing carnage in the state.
Dr. Isamotu hinted that government was looking at possibility of engaging the paramedics as permanent staff in the ministry.
Speaking, the General Manager, Osun Ambulance Service, Dr Adeleke Akinloye, said the three day workshop would expose the paramedics to international best practice.
Dr Akinloye called on the paramedics to be more alive to their responsibility by putting the train in use and enhance their service delivery.
Akinloye, urged members of the public to continue to support the scheme in its quest to make the highway free of accident.
Over four hundred paramedics are participating in the three day workshop.
