It is is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that the health services in Nigeria is poor and most importantly not accessible to the under or less privileged. I heard some people saying health service is free in Nigeria. Free indeed! Free of qualified and well trained nurses , free of medications, free of medical equipments, free of motivated doctors (most of them have traveled out of the country due to improper renumeration) and free of knowledge.
Many of our aged people and children are suffering from different ailments like hypertension or hypotension , diabetics, cataract, malaria, general severe or acute body pain e.t.c cannot afford common paracetamol not to talk of going to the expensive private hospital or supposed free public health centres. Our public health service centres that suppose to be the last option for the poor are nothing to be reckoned with.
The question is ‘are we going to be watching our aged people and children dying on daily basis because they are under or less privileged or due to government negligence?
Omoyiola Free Medical Centre says capital ‘NO’ to it.
“Our believe and slogan in Omoyiola Free Medical Centre is ‘ Let us be the ones who say we do not accept that a child or aged people dies everyday simply because he or she does not have the drugs you and I have. Let us be the ones to say we are not satisfied that your place of birth or economic status determines your right for life. Let us be outraged, let us be loud, let us be bold’ end of quote.
I’m 100% sure many lives might have loss if not because of the intervention of this free medical Centre since two years ago. One of the beneficiaries named Mr Olusola Jacob said and I quote’ I’m alive today because of your centre’ Imagine this touching statement
It would be recalled that we launched our physical building last month, within this period , we have received multitude patients coming from every nooks and crannies of Osun State to receive free treatment and medications on daily basis. Imagine there is no place to go. What will be their fate?
The centre also staged educative session for both pregnant women and nursing mothers and they all went home with different gifts such as diapers, toothbrushes, medicated creams , towels e.t.c .
The centre have been managing almost three hundred hypertensive patients, seventy diabetics patients, over five hundred malaria and general acute body pain patients, over three hundred eye problem have been reported, different bacterial or fungi infections diseases have been cured, just to mention but few. In addition ,by the grace of God , Omoyiola Free Medical Centre, Ileogbo will carry out free cataract surgical operation on 60 already established cataract patients on 19 June, 2019. Prior to that , the operation team will come to examine the beneficiaries again and again before the date. Note that the cataract operation is free of charge and it will cost the clinic whooping sum of 2.4 millions naira apart from other logistics.
All these beneficiaries will regain their full sight free of charge without paying a dime. What an uncommon blessing to our land!
The bone of contention now is are we going to be watching this God sent free medical centre without supporting it financially, morally, spiritually and in kind? Are we going let the hope for the poor fade away? Are we going to leave the facilitator with the burden of maintaining this humanitarian clinic?
All these questions are begging for sincere and genuine answer
