May 29 since 1999 is unarguably Nigeria official handing over and swearing day for outgoing and incoming federal and State executive heads of our democratic government but this year (2019) edition is more significant in Ogun State because of messages divinely attached to it.
AN INGLORIOUS ERA May 29, 2011 – May 29, 2019
To the outgone Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on behalf of good people of Ogun State, I say thank you for your efforts in the last 8years of governance but it is quite unfortunate that as years rolled bye, your administration got worse than previous year.
Without mincing words Y.E Sir, you hoodwinked Ogun State people with lies and blackmails and eventually painted a picture of victimised Samaritan of Ogun State and people bought into your journey to Oke Mosan; lo and behold, you emerged as the 4th Executive Governor of Ogun State.
From day one, you forgot that for whatever the circumstances, God has a hand in your emergence; instead, it was vindictiveness that became your daily vocation. I still remember your first two executed assignments as you formally resumed at Oke Mosan;
1. Calling the bluff of the kneeling former Head of Service, Mrs Iyabo Odulate who was pleading for those young unemployed that were employed in the twilight of OGD administration, you shouted “NO! They have to go Madam and that is it”.
2. Next was your entourage you led to supervise the demolition of late Apagun Olumide properties situated at Oke Mosan! Se Ogun laiye ni? Where is Apagun today?
From that moment, I personally lost hope in any modicum of possible good governance from you sir and I am happy you did not disappoint me till your last moment inside OGTV as Mock News Caster yesternight (may 28, 2019). I can go on and on like that but most are already in the public domain. You became one man battalion like a military administrator surrounded by a few YES Men.
You institutionalised lies and nepotism in that sacred office from day 1 till last day. You betrayed your profession as a Fellow of Chattered Accountant (FCA) with your choice and prioritisation of projects couple with wastages (Model Schools, Sokori pedestrian bridge come to mind).
May we never have your likes to govern us in Ogun State AGAIN sir BECAUSE YOU DID NOT DO WELL (Popular public opinion).
DOUBLE CONGRATULATIONS YOUR EXCELLENCY, PRINCE DAPO ABIODUN, MFR. (59th Birthday Celebration & Swearing in as the 5th Executive Governor of Ogun State)
What a divine coincident that every year of your stewardship as Ogun State Chief Executive will coincide with your birthday celebration! Is it your making Sir? (Lesson number 1).
Circumstance of your emergence as APC flagbearer and your March 9 victory? (Lesson number 2)
You summed it up in your common statement that “if man is God, it wont happen but Man will remain Man and God will remain God” (Lesson number 3).
Aside reading and studying you and your person from a far Y.E Sir; I was priviledged to be part of a meeting with you under the auspices of Yewa Development Forum led by Prof. Emeritus Anthony Asiwaju and what I saw in you assuage my fears and gladden my heart but with a prayer that MAY YOU REMAIN LIKE THAT SIR.
I saw a passionate patriot, listening and calm but with eyes on little details. If maintained, these are the major ingredients that are required in a leader of Men.
I also saw the USUALS (coming to pledge allegiance, lobbying, etc) loitering around Iperu that day but I trust Y.E have what it takes to select the right people that have value to add and assist in actualising your vision for Ogun State.
I wish you Happy Birthday and as you receive the mantle of leadership of our dear State today, may the almighty Allah endow you with Wisdom of Solomon to navigate rightly. May you start and end it well. Please count on the support of patriots like my humble self always as you march on to REDEEM OUR DEAR STATE as long as good governance reigns.
